The Lounger bed with removable topper is a registered design with the UK intellectual property office that is designed here and exclusive to my dog beds.
In an attempt to make the original Lounger even more comfortable for your dog and even more practical for humans I have added a removable plush mattress topper!
The mattress topper is made with an extremely soft, plush faux fur fabric, you can keep it on for an extra soft, snuggly feel for your dog or simply take it off so it's just like the original. It can also be removed for a quick wash solution or, of course, the whole cover is still machine washable for a more thorough wash. Photos show the bed both with and without the topper attached.
The Lounger bed offers a large deep filled luxury mattress with high wrap around bolsters, designed by me, manufactured by my small team exclusively for Alfie and Lu and stuffed by hand in my studio to make a bed that is the perfect combination of sturdy, practical and incredibly comfortable. The Lounger was very much designed with Alfie in mind, he loves to lounge on his bed with his head resting on the side so he can watch everyone. The chunky bolsters on this bed are perfect for this very purpose whilst also creating a safe, secure environment for your dog to snuggle down in.
The bed cover is handmade using the highest quality upholstery fabrics with a water resistant coating, whilst this does not make them waterproof it does make it a lot easier to brush or wipe off any hairs or dog debris! Every fabric is meticulously chosen by myself for its thickness, durability, and softness. The inner mattress is available in either fibre or dual foam (orthopaedic) please read below.

Please measure your dogs previous bed in order to ensure you buy the correct size for your dog. To give an idea, the black Labrador in the photos is Alfie, he is pictured in the Extra-Large here. The Pug in the photos is pictured in the Small.
Fibre Mattress:
I fill the fibre mattress by hand with layers of ultra thick upholstery wadding with soft springy hollow fibre in between to provide great comfort and support for your dog. It is separated into three chambers to stop migration of the materials providing a bed that will remain plump and soft and retain their shape for longer. Simply give it a shake to plump it up.
The Orthopaedic Mattress
The orthopaedic option is a combination of high density foam topped with soft to medium memory foam. It's been designed this way to replicate human memory foam mattresses so that the dog will sink in the proper amount to relieve pressure points and no more, often with mattresses that are solid memory foam the dog will sink to the bottom. All materials used to fill the mattress are hypo-allergenic and fire retardant safety certified by the manufacturer.
The high wrap around bolsters are stuffed full with plush polyester fibre fill and create a soft place for your dog to rest their head or snuggle down and feel safe. The bolster wraps around the front of this bed, designed this way to prevent it flattening over time.
Care:
For a quick wash simply remove the detachable mattress topper and pop in the washing machine. For a more thorough wash the whole cover is completely removable and machine washable. Simply unzip and remove the inner cushion and bolster cushion and place in the washing machine on a medium spin (up to 40 degrees) or alternatively hand wash. Hang out to dry or place on a radiator - I would not recommend tumble drying the cover for this bed.
